Weston Hall Wedding Photos
We’ve not been to Weston Hall for a wedding in ages but it was just as we remembered it last time we photographed there. We headed over first thing to set up the sax for Ben to play during the wedding breakfast. It also gave us a chance to have a little nosey around and loosely plan some photos for later on that day. We knew the light would be amazing later on as the sun set and we might even catch that elusive golden hour if we timed it just right.
But first, it was time for the bridal preparations.
The Wedding Morning
Off to the bride’s home for bridal preparations. Kerry was getting ready along with her bridesmaids and daughter. Lovely to see Sophie from The Bridal Artists – she’s always so glam and lovely and does just an amazing job!! Along with Kerry’s beautiful bridesmaids, she also had a bridesman – Luke – what a lovely guy!! Soon two absolutely stunning Rolls-Royces turned up and it was time to go to the church. How quickly time flies. One minute they’re all sat around drinking prosecco, and then next minute, the wedding dress is on. With Kerry looking amazing we were on our way to the church to see an eagerly waiting Richard at the front of the aisle with his best man.
Everyone was ready, including the vicar who had done a Park Run that morning!! George Simpson was on the piano – setting a truly beautiful atmosphere in anticipation of Kerry’s arrival. As she walked down the aisle with her brother, everyone had big smiles on their faces!
The Drinks Reception
After the ceremony, we all headed back to Weston Hall for drinks, canapés and a few photos while George kept everyone entertained with his guitar! In for dinner, and it was time for Ben to put his other cap on and jump onto the sax to play throughout the wedding breakfast.
After some speeches, everyone hung out in the evening sunshine while the evening guests arrived. We always like to sneak our couples away at this point for a few photos. It’s a nice time of day when the sun has gone down and is less harsh. We can really open up our apertures and catch some gorgeous soft sun flare in the lens for some dreamy, beautiful bridal portraits. However, as much as we’d love to stay there for hours photographing two awesome humans, we can’t hang out forever… It was time to get the party started!! After the first dance, we managed to get out one last time and made the most of the pagoda covered in fairy lights – so cute.
Anyway, many thanks to Rich and Kerry for a great day. Also thanks so much to Luke for offering to help me carry all the sax stuff out to the car and for offering to get us drinks! He was a star! We love you all so much!!
Here are just a few favourites from the day – TURN IT UP LOUD and enjoy!
A bit of Weston Hall History
Weston Hall is a Grade II listed building but has had a very varied past. It started life back in 1550 as a small Dower House, but then was extended in 1660 into a much bigger house. Towards the end of the 19th century, it was taken over by Shrewsbury Settled Estates, who built the fourth high pitched roof that we see today. In 1950 it was converted into flats but soon fell into disrepair. Thankfully it was rescued in the 1990s and over the next 9 years, it was renovated into a restaurant with accommodation. The current owners further renovated the building to include The Cellar restaurant, the function rooms, and 8 individually designed bedrooms.
