The history

It’s always nice when you have a connection to the family of the bride or groom. Louisa used to have music lessons from my dad when we were very young and her dad, David has been my dentist, right from when I knocked my front tooth out as a young boy!! It was great to see them again, and some other friendly faces along the way too!

The wedding venues

Before I tell you more about how amazing Louisa and George are, let’s talk about the venues. Firstly, St. Oswald’s Church in Ashbourne is simply stunning. Possibly one of my favourite churches and what makes it even better is the new vicar Duncan, is genuinely one of the nicest vicars I’ve met. So lovely to us, which as photographers doesn’t happen very often when we enter other churches. What’s even better is that he seems to genuinely care about his couples and he talks to them like they’re friends. It really got the day off to a great start! Then there’s Tissington Hall – one of the jewels of the Peak District. A beautiful Grade II* listed building. An early 17th-century Jacobean mansion house in Tissington, near Ashbourne, Derbyshire – The perfect place to have a drinks reception in the rose garden and a party to remember in the marquee.

After the church service

After the church ceremony, Louisa and George took the opportunity to head back to the house that Lou grew up in for a few photos. We love little things like that – creating new memories to go with the old ones. What better time to do it than on your wedding day.

When we arrived back at Tissington, all their guests were waiting, armed with oodles of confetti, spectacularly unleashing it as they walked through their welcome tunnel. The party had officially started!! Louisa and George were nothing short of awesome. Having been together since school, it was clear to see how well matched they are! The time we spent hanging out together for some photos was a right laugh, their friends and family were there to have nothing less than an epic time too! The sun was shining, it was nice and warm and there was lots of canapés and prosecco going around – the perfect afternoon!

Speeches followed dinner and they were pretty funny! The best men’s speech was hilarious and it’s great to get to know a bit more about who persued who at school!

With all the formalities done, there was nothing left to do but get the dancing started and enjoy the party! Thanks so much for such a great day guys – It was amazing to hang out with you all! 😀
