We love it when a bride & grooms book us for a wedding really early in their planning stages because they knew they just had to have us photograph their wedding. It’s such an honour not only to be asked, but to be trusted to photograph one of the most awesome days of their lives, the way we see it through our lens.

What’s even more awesome is the fact that they chose a very exclusive wedding venue on the Derbyshire/Leicestershire border, Staunton Harold Hall, they only hold 12 weddings per year. Then, to make the day even more awesome, we met Rebecca and Matt – Two of the nicest people out there and obviously so happy and in love.

Have I used the word ewesome enough??? Well, I’m going to use it again – the food was awesome too, courtesy of two of my favourite foodies in the industry, Chris The Chef and Ross The Rustic Crust Pizza Company!

So the day was set to be, well…. awesome!! 🙂

Bridal Preparations

We joined Becky in the morning at Breedon Hall while she was getting ready with her mum and bridesmaids. Dad was left at home on his own, so it didn’t take him long to finish up his jobs and come and join everyone so he could be a part of his beautiful daughters final preparations. We always love it when we see familiar faces at weddings and it was great to work with the fantastic Penelope from The Frangipani Tree doing the makeup and Kayleigh doing the hair. Such a fab team!!

With everyone ready, we headed off to the church in Tutbuty for the ceremony and then outside for confetti. With the plan to do a couple of photos at the church was skuppered by the begining of rain, we decided to head straight off to the venue for the drinks reception. Thank God we did – as soon as we got in the car, the heavens opened and it totally threw it down – like seriously threw it down!!!

Thankfully, we had a bit of a drive from Tutbury to Staunton Harold, so by the time we arrived for the drinks reception, the rain had all cleared away and the sun was back! 🙂

With photos done, drinks drunk and canapés eaten we headed inside for dinner, more drinks and speeches before getting the party started with a cake cut and first dance.

Thank you guys for such a great day and for plying us with lots of amazing food all day  – it’s so nice to be looked after. You’re both so amazing together and it was a pleasure to hang out with you and your friends and family. Here’s just a few of our favourite images while we work on the Full Gallery….
