We love it when couples book us early in their wedding planning. It usually means they know they want us to capture their big day, which is such an honour. Being trusted to photograph a wedding the way we see it is something we’ll never take for granted.

Even better, Rebecca and Matt picked Staunton Harold Hall on the Derbyshire/Leicestershire border. This exclusive venue only hosts around 12 weddings a year, so it always feels special. Add in two of the kindest people we’ve met—totally happy and in love—and we knew the day would be amazing.

And yes, I’ve already used the word “awesome” a lot, but here it comes again. The food was awesome too! Chris The Chef and Ross from The Rustic Crust Pizza Company nailed it, keeping everyone full and happy all day.

Bridal Preparations at Breedon Hall

The day began at Breedon Hall with Becky, her mum, and bridesmaids. Dad soon joined after finishing his jobs, ready to share in those final, emotional moments before the ceremony.

We love working with familiar faces, and the prep team was top-notch. Penelope from The Frangipani Tree doing the makeup and Kayleigh doing the hair and makeup magic. Such a fab team!

From Tutbury to Staunton Harold

The ceremony took place at the church in Tutbury. Confetti flew, laughter filled the air, and then the rain started! We had planned a few photos at the church, but as soon as we jumped in the car, the heavens opened. It poured down—properly poured down.

Luckily, the drive to Staunton Harold gave the skies time to clear. By the time we arrived for the drinks reception, the sun was back out, and guests were ready to celebrate. That’s British weather for you—always keeping us on our toes!

The drinks flowed, canapés disappeared, and we captured plenty of candid shots of guests soaking up the atmosphere. Then it was inside for dinner, heartfelt speeches, and a few more drinks before the evening kicked off with the cake cut and first dance.

For us, Staunton Harold wedding photography is always a treat. The hall’s grand interiors, sweeping lawns, and lakeside views give endless opportunities for portraits and candid moments.
