When two wedding photographers get married, awesome things happen!

Paul & Sue

We knew Paul from a wedding photography facebook group that we’re part of, but had never actually met. What we didn’t know, is Sue is also a photographer too. Another (now) husband and wife team the same as us 🙂

We met up and chatted for a good while about all things photography and weddings and it quickly became obvious that we were going to have a great time at their wedding. Being in the industry themselves, they were super sensible about everything and knew how to make sure they had a great day. They were also really excited about photos,  as you’d expect I guess. They pretty much said, “just do what you like and we’ll follow you”. Aaaaah….. a photographers dream!! 🙂

Stapleford Park  – A beautiful Wedding Venue

Stapleford Park is a Grade I listed country house in Stapleford, near Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire. A stunning wedding venue with a whole selection of amazing areas for photography. There are grand staircases, state banqueting rooms, small dark corners with cool red walls, a gorgeous sunroom for larger ceremonies and a stack of beautiful gardens for photos. Honestly, we could photograph there for days and not get bored. When Paul and Sue contacted us about their wedding there, we were over the moon as we love going to venues we’ve never been to before!

Amazing weather

The one thing you can’t plan for your wedding day is the weather. With it being the Spring in the UK, anything could happen but they totally lucked out and it was the most stunning day – baking hot sun, beautiful blue skies….it was like the middle of summer. It was so hot! Great for a wedding so guests can sit outside and enjoy relaxed drinks on the terrace.

We joined Sue while she was having her hair and makeup done and before we knew it it was time to head down the beautiful staircase for the ceremony where Paul was eagerly waiting, trying to hold back the tears. They both said ‘I Do’, and that was it. Paul had finally married the gorgeous girl he first laid eyes on 30 years ago, while she was wearing a white jumpsuit and super tall heels!!! Lucky guy!

We all headed outside to enjoy the sunshine, take a few photos and enjoy a relaxed afternoon topping up our winter tan. The sun was crazy strong and high in the sky, so we planned to shoot a few photos and take some time out after dinner for more photos. It’s often nicer to do that – the sun is lower in the sky and a little softer. You guys have had a couple of drinks and are feeling a lot more relaxed now speeches are out of the way, and it’s just a nice time after dinner to get out and take a breath of fresh air. It worked! We caught the last few seconds of a beautiful sunset and Paul and Sue were able to just hang out and enjoy it together.

We had such a great day guys – it was awesome to be able to shoot your wedding and you’re both so good together! Here’s just a few of our favourites from the day…..
