Our first wedding of 2020 at The West Mill

Laura + Scott

Oh my days, I don’t where to start. This was our 701st wedding and our first one for 2020.  What great start to the new decade. The beautiful Laura & Scott booked us ages ago, and I think it’s safe to say they are possibly one of our biggest stalkers (in a nice way!!) of all time! Even when they were living in different countries, they still managed to tag each other in our latest post, just to make sure they’d both seen it. We LOVE it guys!!

Then, Scott won one of our early morning photoshoot spots and much to Laura’s delight, we took a 4am walk up a small mountain for sunrise photos! Hopefully, it was worth it!? (see photo below if you don’t believe me). Since then, we’ve chatted loads, kept in touch via social media, met for coffee for a pre-wedding chat and now finally it was the day of the wedding and we rocked up knowing we were spending the day with friends, rather than “clients” (ew, hate that word!!).

So all you need to know is that Laura & Scott are epically awesome people. They met working at Alton Towers, they have survived a long-distance relationship while Scott was working in Dubai and now they will be starting their lives together with Scott starting his new (ish) job at Longleat Safari Park. 🦒🦍🦁

The Wedding Day

So Laura got ready in the Mill House at The West Mill, with her closest people – it’s a stunning building and Laura very much enjoyed the giant bath!!

Now apparently, everyone agrees that Scott is not an emotional guy, but I don’t think that’s true. It just doesn’t show on his face much – but you can see in his eyes the way he feels about Laura. If you just watch these two, even for a second, you can see the love. There were lots of lovely moments in the ceremony where they looked at each other and you can just tell. Even from the back of the room where I was. LOVE these guys!

The rest of the day was full of fun, everyone was really involved in the day. Just to give one example….. it was pretty chilly outside (being the 2nd of Jan) and all the guests were lined up ready to cover the couple in confetti. Now Scott & Laura took a little while to come downstairs, but instead of moaning, the guests were having a right laugh, every time the front door opened everyone got really excited and cheered, only to be disappointed that it was one of us two or the videographers!! In the end, there was a huge communal stamping of feet and they could be kept waiting no longer –  A huge cheer when they eventually made their appearance and the party got started!! Now that’s the atmosphere you want at a wedding. 😍

Can we also just take a quick break here to mention the Welsh Cakes – OMG – How good were they? Soooo yummy (we might have stolen one!! 😉

The day continued in this vein, lots of laughs & love. Great speeches, and the party at night was epic thanks to the always amazing Distraction Band. It turns out several people at the wedding (including Laura) were big fans of The Fresh Prince – joining the band on stage to spit some lyrics!

We really were part of the dream team on this day and it was a pleasure to work alongside some of the best in the business…. stunning greenery and florals from Nadia Di Tullio, such a tasty cake from April Delights, The Distractions band were epic on the dance floor and  Our Wedding Videographers are always great to work with. LOVE them all.  And special thanks to Dan and Tom (Scott’s groomsmen) who were total gents all-day long. And of course, the lovely Kathryn at The West Mill who helped to keep the day running so smoothly.

Laura, Scott – we’ll see you soon for a beer. You’re never getting rid of us!! 🥂🍺

Here are a few of our favourites while we work on your full gallery. My only rules are… Grab a glass of bubbly, turn it up LOUD, hit FULL SCREEN, and re-live your day over and over again!
