Saxon Mill Wedding Photos – Katie + Ant
The Saxon Mill – Katie + Ant
We LOVE winter weddings. While it’s cold, dark and usually rainy outside, we get to warm up by the fire, hang out with guests getting cosey, drinking, eating, being happy (very happy in some cases 🍻🍾🥂!!) and have a really great time! When you get married at 3pm in the winter, it’s pretty much dark outside anyway, so why worry about heading out when you can be extra festive inside instead! The outside world is totally overrated anyway lol (unless you’re one of our lovely couples reading this getting married in the summer….we love the sun too!) Do you know what, I think it might just be weddings full stop that we love – As long as everyone is having a great time and the party gets started early, who cares about anything else, right!?!
Katie and Ant were no disappointment – With Ant (aka Darcy) being a Royal Marine, surrounded by his Marine mates, the party was almost certain to get started early 🙂
So, the first we saw was Katie and her dad arriving in her black Mercedes. It was pouring down with rain, but that didn’t detract from her beautiful, beaming smile as I greeted her at the car. Once all the guests had arrived she quickly headed in, shielded by an army of umbrellas and headed upstairs to a nervously waiting Ant and his best man Ollie.
Katie arrived down the aisle looking stunning, only matched by Ant, suited and booted in his military No1’s.
Following a lovely ceremony filled with tears and laughter, we all headed downstairs to have a drink, warm up by the fire and have a few photos. With the rain not letting up, we decided to head outside with an umbrella and find a shaded spot for a quick 2 minutes for some photos. I’m so glad we did… The lights of the Saxon Mill looked lovely in the background and Katie and Ant were totally amazing together!!
Before we knew it, it was time to head back upstairs for food, a lovely heartfelt speech from David, a hugely embarrassing speech from Ollie and an epic game of Beer Pong, and of course, lots of dancing!
We know we had to make use of the guys looking amazing in their uniforms before we left, so we took the lads outside for a couple of smokey portraits and then left them to party the night away!
Thanks for such an amazing time guys – We LOVED hanging out with you all.
Here’s a little preview of our favourites while we work on your full gallery.
Turn it up LOUD, and enjoy!
