Rossington Hall wedding
Firstly I’ve got to say how lovely this venue is! It’s not far from Doncaster in South Yorkshire. There’s been a building there since 1778 and in it’s time it has been burnt to the ground, been used as a training college for priests, requisitioned during the war and haunted by a ghost. Finally, falling into total disrepair until 2011 when it was bought and lovingly restored!! It’s a great location for a wedding! Its so nice for us to see new venues outside Derbyshire as it always gives us new inspiration and ideas for the day ahead!
We’d met Ryan before as he was playing the piano for Julie and Steve’s wedding last christmas and got chance to have a quick chat. We quickly realised that he was such a lovely guy and that Emma was equally lovely and we couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!
Bridal preps
We joined Emma, her bridesmaids and the mums upstairs in the huge bridal suite in the morning for their preparations. Lots of hair and makeup going on while the guys arrived downstairs. Slight mishap to do with one of the groomsmen trousers (nothing too wierd, just the wrong size), but it was soon resolved and everyone was ready!!
The wedding ceremony
With the girls all ready, it was time for Emma to head down the beautiful staircase with her Dad to see an excited Ryan at the fornt of the aisle. With a couple of lovely readings and a fantastic piano player, one of Ryan’s musical heros, the ceremony was really special. Before you knew it, they were officially married!!!! Then it was time to head out into the sunshine for drinks in the grounds. Emma & Ryan had arranged some fairground games in the gardens, a coconuut shy, huck a duck and hoopla – great fun! After lots of mingling time, we did a few family photos and went for a walk to take in the gardens to make the most of the lovely view of the house. Before we knew it, it was time for dinner and speeches. Time really does fly when you’re having fun!!
The evening reception
As you’ll know by now, we loved this building so we wanted to make the most of the inside too. So, after dinner we took a little walk round the building with Emma & Ryan using a few of the features for some cool shots. Once the evening guests had arrived, it was time for the first dance which at first seemed completely normal until the music really kicked in and then Ryan, Emma and their daughter launched into a brilliant flashmob routine which everyone loved!!
We had a great time with Emma & Ryan, they are a genuinely lovely couple, so smiley and friendly and we could have hung out with them all evening!! Here’s just a few of our favourites from the day but be sure to click through to the Full Gallery at the end of the page! 😀
