Wedding Photography in Lindos, Rhodes

Bring a wedding photographer in Lindos, Rhodes, is awesome. Fact. It’s one of the most beautiful places in the world for a wedding and as a photographer, those white buildings against the colours of the blue sea and dark rocks are just perfect.

There are so many beautiful spots to get married on Rhodes. Thankfully Kit and Ben chose The Chapel at St. Pauls Bay for their wedding ceremony, and boy oh boy, was it good. More about that later.

Rhodes as a wedding destination

A little bit more about why I love Rhodes as a destination wedding photographer. So, it’s no secret that I love light and shadows in my photos. The harsh sunlight against the white building of Lindos makes for some super cool composition for portraits. Then there’s the sea – being from landlocked Derbyshire, getting a bit of Vitamin ”Sea” wherever I can is a happy bonus. But to have the turquoise sea that surrounds the Greek islands in the background on wedding photos is so nice. At St Pauls Bay, it’s pretty hard not to include that beautiful water. It was all I could do not to go and jump in as the wedding ceremony was sooooo hot!!

Then you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to beautiful places for your wedding reception. Kit and Ben ended up at Restaurant Philosophea, right on the cliff tops above Pefkos beach. It’s a beautiful little local family restaurant run by the lovely Barbara and husband Philippos. If there’s one thing I’ll take away from this trip, it’s that the food there is AWESOME. Such great seafood and steak! Great job guys, and thanks so much for feeding me.

Also, a big shout out to Karen at Lindos Weddings for doing an epic job as the wedding co-ordinator. On the day, Lorna was running things for Karen and was so lovely to be around and we had a right old laugh! You guys were amazing!

Kit + Ben

But back to why Kit and Ben are two of the loveliest humans around! I met them back at Jodi (Kit’s bridesmaid) and Tom’s wedding 5 years ago. Kit was Jodi’s bridesmaid, so when they got in touch afterwards, I was so excited. I knew that we were going to have a great day already. Then they mentioned their wedding would be on the Greek island of Rhodes. Sold, I was hooked already as I’d never photographed a wedding in Lindos before, let alone Rhodes. I couldn’t wait.

Fast forward a million postponements due to covid, and we finally got there. Very British to talk about the weather, I know, but I think this was pretty much the hottest wedding ceremony I’ve ever photographed. OH MY GOD it was hot. But the moment we finished the ceremony and got up into some lovely sea breeze on the cliffs back at Philosophea, it was heaven. Lovely warm summers evening and that amazing golden sunlight that comes with sunsets by the sea. What more could you ask for as a destination wedding photographer in Rhodes. Oh yeah… a whole stack of awesome wedding guests who were seriously up for a party. We partied HARD on the open-air dance floor until late into the evening and had the best time ever!!!
