Old Luxters Barn wedding photos

We’ve been looking forward to this Old Luxters Barn wedding for a while now – it’s a venue that we’ve not shot at before and we love barn weddings as they’re always super relaxed and intimate weddings. Cheryl and Marks wedding didn’t disappoint!

So, it’s no secret that the weather was looking pretty horrendous – it was throwing it down when we arrived in the morning and only got worse as the morning went on – but then, just as Cheryl was about the make the short walk from her cottage over to the ceremony room, the rain stopped and the sun almost came out!

Rewind a couple of hours… We arrived bright and early to start Cheryl’s bridal preparation photos – we found all the girls being pampered in the farmhouse, having their hair and makeup done, and opening the box of lovely presents that Cheryl had put together for them all.

Before we knew it, it was time to head over to see an eagerly waiting Mark and his best man Lee at the front of the ceremony aisle. As the ceremony progressed it has started to rain again, but just as we wondered when we were going to get chance to throw confetti, it stopped again – yay!!! Group photos done, LOTS of confetti thrown, leaving us with just enough time to go and take Cheryl and Mark for a couple of very quick photos before the heavens opened and thoroughly rained on us all. Hey ho – it didn’t matter one bit – Everyone grabbed a brolly and continued to eat, drink and have fun outside anyway – it was an awesome atmosphere to see everyone embracing the great British summer!!

Speeches followed dinner, with lots of fun, laughter and few tears – even a game of Mr & Mrs to round everything off before we all headed outside for a dessert buffet and cookie bar! Now THAT’S what I’m talkin’ about!

Then, someone was looking down on us, because the skies cleared, the sun came out and gave us the most amazing golden hour sunshine to go and play in. So we headed off into the award winning vineyard next door to wander amongst the grape vines before it was time to head back to get the party started with some dancing!

We had such a good laugh with Cheryl & Mark. All their friends and family we awesome too and really made it a day to remember! Here are just a few of our favourites from the day….
