Dunchurch Park wedding photography
Dunchurch Park Hotel is an amazing wedding venue for photography. Ever since we met Amrit & Paras we have been looking forward to their amazing Indian/English wedding day! We love being an Asian wedding photographer and their wedding didn’t disappoint. It was to be a mix of all traditions – We couldn’t wait! We also hadn’t been to Dunchurch Park for a wedding in ages so it would be great to go back and update our photo gallery, especially with such an epically good looking couple. Winner winner! 😃
So, we set off from our Derbyshire home and headed down the motorway to Rugby, bright and early with our camera in hand, to meet Amrit and all her bridesmaids getting ready at this popular wedding venue, in one of the big rooms upstairs. Hair and make-up were in full swing and everyone was excited and ready to get going!
The Wedding Ceremony
Downstairs in the ceremony room, Paras had made his entrance with his brothers, to a huge round of applause! We knew then that it was going to be a great day with an amazing atmosphere from all their closest friend and family. A lovely ceremony followed then out onto the front to the building for a huge confetti tunnel and a few group photos on the steps of the building. During the drinks reception, everyone was treated to Prosecco and Wood Fired Pizza and then over to the courtyard by the Mawson Marquee for a real treat. A real-life, 5 piece Rajasthani band!! Loads of dancing ensued – it was so much fun!
In Indian tradition, it was time for a little bit of break now before the evening guests arrived – Amrit and Paras headed off to get changed into their evening outfits. They made their entrance once everyone had arrived for the evening reception. loads of amazing food, loads of dancing and even some spectacular fireworks over the lake there at Dunchurch Park to finish the night.
Thank you
Amrit & Paras are honestly one of the nicest couples you could ever hope to meet. They are kind, friendly, welcoming and so so smiley and we genuinely felt like one of the family by the time we left! We had the best time – honestly, it was such a fun day!!
Here are a few of our favourites while we work on your full gallery. My only rules are… Grab a glass of bubbly, turn it up LOUD, hit FULL SCREEN, and re-live your day over and over again!
The history of Dunchurch Park
What a perfect wedding venue for a wedding! Located not far from Rugby in Warwickshire, there are 72 acres of beautifully manicured gardens perfect for photography. The building itself has a very varied past. The lands were once owned by King George III in the 1700s. At the beginning of the 1800s, it was bought by the Oxford Union Canal Navigation Company for £700. They then arranged the building of a fine red-brick mansion, known as Dunchurch Lodge. In 1890 the lodge suffered from a large fire was all but destroyed.
In 1908 the new mansion house and three lodges for estate workers were complete. A landscape architect, Thomas Mawson was commissioned to design the gardens. Thomas Mawson has become one of the most successful landscape gardeners of the Victorian era. The wedding marquee is named after him. The gardens surrounding the Lodge remain today and have been Grade II* listed.
In 2001, the park was purchased by a hotel chain and has continued to be developed. Today it stands as a gorgeous wedding venue. There’s even a nice little field out of the back that you can sneak into and watch the sunset and give you that beautiful golden hour sunshine that we all seem to be drawn to as photographers. Open up the aperture, let the light flood into the lens and hit the sensor and boom, you’ve got gorgeous light flooding in that could be reminiscent of Tuscany or the Dordogne.
