Cressbrook Hall Wedding Photography
We love heading into the Peak District for some Cressbrook Hall Wedding Photography. This beautiful winter wedding was especially important to us as the bride and groom are good friends of ours. It’s made extra special as we also know most of the groom’s immediate family from previous weddings too 🙂 Cressbrook Hall is a Tudor-style mansion, built in 1835 and located not too far from Buxton in the heart of the Peak District. It has an amazing view over the waters of Water-cum-Jolly Dale and is only a couple of minutes from Monsal Head. It also has cottages for guest accommodation and we found Carly in the lodge at the end of the lane on the morning of the wedding.
Bridal Preparations
We arrived to the usual bridal preparations scene for our day of wedding photography at Cressbrook Hall. The bride in her dressing gown, hair half way done, the house busy with mums and bridesmaids. Carly seemed fairly chilled although needless to say I think there were some nerves, more about the day running smoothly more than about the impending marriage to Andy!! Andy was already up at the house making the last minute preparations and meeting and greeting all his groomsmen as they arrived at the hall. While Ben stayed with Carly I took a little time to hang out with the guys and photograph some of the detail already laid out for the Wedding Breakfast.
The Ceremony in The Granary
Before you knew it, Carly was in her dress and Calvin (Andy’s dad) was bringing everyone up to the hall to see the registrars and get the show on the road. It was a lovely ceremony, a really nice registrar and after they had signed the register it was out into the chilly February air for some photos and a wander around the grounds. We were also joined by Carly & Andy’s much-loved dog, Skye – she’s such a big softie and so great they could involve her.
The Wedding Breakfast & Evening Reception
Carly had made some lovely choices for the Wedding Breakfast room. As a couple, they love to visit Scotland and you could see this on the tables. Candle holders made from antlers, fishing inspired place names, the guys had gun cartridges for their buttonholes and tartan waistcoats. We had a great dinner and lovely company as they had also invited Ben’s brother and his wife, so we were able to have a good old chat while we enjoyed dinner. With no first dance planned, we took advantage of the fading light and headed to the water fountain for a couple of more photos before we lost Carly & Andy to the bar, the dance floor and the rest of the evening guests. This is why we love wedding photography at Cressbrook Hall – During the day, the views are stunning. During the night, we can party hard!
