July 2019 Diary

WOW….. it’s been such crazy few weeks. I feel like our feet haven’t touched the ground. You know that roadrunner cartoon with the spinning legs… well, that has pretty much been us recently!! 🤣

So, since we last checked in with you guys on here, we’ve been up to Scotland for a very special “Love the Dress” shoot with the beautiful Holly and Lewis. We’ve headed over to the south of France for the first time with our cameras to photograph Caroline & Mat’s amazing wedding at the Château Cazanec in the Dordogne – Read more about that lovely wedding here.

We got home, and a day later headed up to the gorgeous Whitby for a connection shoot with Katie & Tom. These two were so amazing and passionate together… I can’t wait to photograph their wedding in a couple of months!

See…. I told you it’s been mad.

Katie & Tom in Whitby

Whitby never fails to amaze us. We LOVE it there. We’ve photographed a couple of weddings in the area now and every time we head back up north to Yorkshire, we always come away with some killer images. Katie and Tom totally lived up to our huge expectations!! 🙂

Holly & Lewis in Scotland

Here are Holly and Lewis in the beautiful Scottish Cairngorms up in the mountains. She was rocking a kind of Game of Thrones ‘esque’ throw and headpiece – looked amazing!

Becki & Martin at The West Mill

We’ve also had some amazing UK weddings to shout all about too. Becki & Martin at The West Mill saw some of the best suppliers in the industry come together and create a truly stunning day. See their blog here

The hottest day of the year so far at Calke Abbey…

We’ve just shot a wedding at Calke Abbey on the hottest day of the year so far – Lauren looked just stunning, twirling around in her gorgeous dress in The Riding School. It was an awesome day – Everyone outside for most of it, with a drinks horsebox and it was just a great atmosphere.

Our Barn Conversion

Oh yeah, the progress on our barn conversion has stepped up a gear too. We now, after 18 months of jumping through planning hoops and endlessly waiting for drawings, finally have a start date! So we have been busy finalising things with groundworkers and builders.  Visiting showrooms for everything from kitchens to cladding and making lots of exciting, and very expensive decisions! Follow our barn conversion progress on it’s Instagram account: @haybarn_on_the_hill

You might also have seen on our HBA Insta page stories that we’ve rescued a little lamb, named “Lamby”. I love our originality!!

He was left behind in a field close to us for 2 weeks on his own. The farmer came to collect all the other sheep, but because they use a landrover they don’t always see the stragglers – and we found this little dude cowering under a hedge all alone and very hungry & weak. No idea who the farmer was (despite trying to find out). So, he’s happily settling in here at home with our dogs and is no doubt the start of our weird managery of animals that we’ll be collecting over the next few years. I love him and so do the dogs!

So yeah, it’s been a crazy month – Life is good but super super busy, and we wouldn’t have it any other way!! I do need a nap though.

Check back soon to see our barn progress, highlights from the next few weddings and more HBA news!

Ciao for now amigos!
xx
