Alrewas Hayes Wedding Photos

Oh maaaaaaaaan, what a day this was!! I don’t even know where to start. OK so, we already knew Katie & Josh from photographing their close friends wedding at The Mill Barns a couple of years ago. It was great to see Beth & Josh again and to meet their new addition – Callie, she is just so bloody cute!! We also got to see Beth’s sister, Emma again and catch up with her and John and their two kiddies. Their dad was there too – great to catch up with our couples & their families!!

Anyway back to the main lady – Katie!!  When we arrived at Alrewas Hayes, makeup was done, dress was hung up, everyone had their matching dressing gowns and slippers – they were on it! Josh was getting ready with his men in one of the other suites so we popped over to him too. “Pies” as his mates seem to call him, was almost ready – bit hot and bothered, but excited and desperate to see Katie & get married! Not long to wait, and she was only 5 minutes late (well you have to be a little late, don’t you).

The forecast for the day had been TERRIBLE, rain and wind forecast for most of the day and it did rain during the ceremony, but it cleared up in time for Katie & Josh to walk down the aisle and the venue were on it – ready with champagne in the courtyard! Happy Days! So drinks and canapés and a few photos with lots of confetti, a little walk round to the front of the house with all the bridesmaids and groomsmen – many many laughs and much love between Katie & Josh!!

An epic dinner followed… a starter of cheesy, bacon potatoes (YUM!!), followed by the most garlicky steak I’ve ever had – cooked brilliantly. The evening guests must have wondered what the hell we’d all been eating!! Some great speeches followed, topped off by the most gorgeous song by Katie, sung directly to Josh – what a sweetheart she is! Then a surprise – Josh’s brother had put together a video using loads of photos from K&J’s early days – everyone gathered round and had a good old laugh!!

Despite a bit more rain during dinner, it cleared up again in the evening and we even got a bloody sunset!! I couldn’t believe their luck!  Then onto the dancefloor for what was going to be an epic party, BUT another surprise…I don’t even know how to describe it….a fancy dress / karaoke parade featuring guests dressed up as Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, The Hoff, Taylor Swift…. just ridiculoudly funny!

I think you’ll get the impression that this was a brilliant day, one that we will never forget.

Here are just a few of our favourites from the day while we work on your full gallery!!!
Our only rules are… You gotta hit “Full Screen” and you gotta turn it up LOUD. Enjoy xx

Alrewas Hayes – A Luxury Country Estate Wedding Venue in Staffordshire

If you’re dreaming of a wedding that blends countryside tranquillity with modern luxury, Alrewas Hayes in Staffordshire is a venue that deserves a spot on your shortlist. This exclusive-use estate combines historic charm with contemporary design, offering a flexible space that feels both elegant and relaxed.

Why Couples Love It

  • The setting – Nestled in picturesque Staffordshire parkland, the Grade II listed manor house and surrounding grounds offer a stunning backdrop for your day. From tree-lined avenues to tranquil gardens, it’s a venue where every corner feels photo-ready.

  • Ceremony spaces – Couples can choose from a range of licensed spaces: intimate indoor rooms, the light-filled Orangery, or outdoor ceremonies in the gardens. Each has its own character, so you can shape the atmosphere of your vows.

  • Reception options – The purpose-built Lakeside marquee is spacious enough for larger weddings, while the Great Barn provides a rustic yet stylish alternative. This flexibility means the venue can adapt whether you’re planning a chic black-tie celebration or a relaxed countryside party.

  • Accommodation – With 11 bedrooms onsite, including luxury suites, you and your closest guests can stay overnight. Nearby hotels and B&Bs provide extra options for larger guest lists.

  • Exclusivity – When you book Alrewas Hayes, the whole estate is yours for the day, giving you total privacy and the freedom to design the wedding you want.

Things to Keep in Mind

  • Budget – This is very much a premium venue, so costs will reflect the luxury setting and service.

  • Transport – Its countryside location means arranging taxis or coaches for guests might be wise.

  • Personalisation – The marquee and barns are blank canvases, which is brilliant for creativity but means you’ll want to invest in styling to make them your own.

LGBTQ+ Friendly Weddings

Alrewas Hayes is an inclusive venue, welcoming LGBTQ+ couples with the same warmth and attention to detail as any other. The versatile ceremony and reception spaces allow you to create a celebration that reflects your story, whether you prefer a traditional format or something completely unique.

Top Tips

  • Explore the grounds – the lake and landscaped gardens are ideal for sunset photos.

  • Don’t skip the food – the in-house catering team has a strong reputation, so enjoy tastings to build a menu that suits you.

  • Think about flow – use the Orangery for drinks, the marquee for dinner, and the barn for dancing to make the most of the different spaces.
