Lia & Paul married in Hucknall!

A beautiful butterfly theme ran through this wedding and it was a fabulous day from start to finish with some really lovely touches including a horse and carriage and a singer for the evening reception. It was pretty cold & windy all day so we had to be quick but Lia was very brave and she looked stunning on the day! Their little boy James was also a star and incredibly patient during the group photos – I think it helped that he was very eager to be in front of the camera!

David & Jayne married at Donington Park Farmhouse

Turned out to be a nice day in the end at Park Farmhouse near Castle Donington and a great place for me & Ben to go back to again – almost 4 years to the day that we were married there!

They are a lovely couple and Jayne really put a lot of thought into the decorations, we loved the table names and the table plan especially – something we’ve never seen before!

Martin & Caroline married in Newton Solney

We met Caroline and Martin through a close friend of mine and what a lovely couple they are, it was a real pleasure to spend the day with them all. They chose the beautiful little church at Newton Solney for the ceremony before heading over to Newton Park Hotel for the reception. There were lots of lovely touches including hand made favours, a funky camper van and beautifully bright flowers. Ben played the sax during the BBQ and then we also did the disco for the evening do too, so it was a full day but Caroline & Martin were so lovely we felt like part of the party!

We’re offering a free engagement shoot, ‘love the dress’ shoot, or couple photo-shoot to one winner!

All you have to do is the following…

- Plan the most exciting, interesting and unique photo-shoot you can! (It has to be realistically do-able!)

- Write your photo-shoot idea in the comments box at the bottom of the page

- We’ll then pick our favourite 3 ideas and publish them online as finalists for everyone to vote on.

- The idea with the highest number of votes… wins!

The 3 finalists will be contacted in order to explain your idea in a little more details before voting. Feel free to email in pictures or clippings of your ideas to info@hbaphotography.com

Think about…

- The style of the photo-shoot (fun / edgy / urban / fairytale / old school / foreign etc etc…)

- Pick a location for the shoot

- What can you add to this shoot that is unique and quirky

- What is going to make you stand out from the crowd

- What would you wear for the shoot

Jo & Olly married at Swinfen Hall, Lichfield

What a fantastic couple Olly & Jo make! So very different yet they seem to compliment each other perfectly! They chose Swinfen Hall near Lichfield for their wedding day, a beautiful house with a deer park at the back and there are some lovely gardens surrounding the ornamental pond. Jo wore a stunning dress with specially customised shoes, she put a huge amount of thought into all the table decorations including little framed pictures of the couple when they were young and individual sweet jars for each guest. Fireworks in the evening followed by a little surprise for Jo in the form of our Ben playing the sax!

Jess & Will’s Engagement on the farm

Jess & Wills engagement photoshoot on the farm

Meet Jess & Will! Will is a hard working dairy farmer and Jess is an even harder working farmers wife with 2 great children to run around after all day!

We headed up to Jess and Will’s farm in Derbyshire to have a look at where the beautiful marquee is going to be for their wedding next weekend. After a couple of weeks of dodging the April showers we finally managed to get out and about with them on the farm and snap some engagement photos.

We’re looking forward to seeing them both for their wedding!

Andrew & Lianne – The Old Vicarage, Elkesley

Remember Andy (or Andrew as he’s know to his family!) and Lianne’s engagement photoshoot at Wollaton Hall? Here’s their wedding day……

The Old Vicarage in Elkesley is a beautiful privately owned house set with a quaint little river running through the garden – Over the bridge was Andy and Lianne’s marquee!

Lianne got ready in the large bedroom upstairs overlooking the grounds. Keeping a watchful eye on everything as the guests arrived downstairs was Andy and his best man Adrian.

Leanne looked stunning – Her hair and makeup was gorgeous and her choice of dress really suited her – Beautiful!

It’s always nice when we see something different at a wedding, and this was no exception. Andy and Lianne had organised a duck rack along the river for the evening, with races between tables, playoffs, heats and to top it all off, a specially made trophy for the overall winner! (it was nice to see the guy who lost so dramatically at go-karting on the stag-do finally claiming his victory in the duck race!)

The whole day was great – Lots of fun and games for the guests and Andy and Lianne we’re amazing together. We wish you guys all the very best for your future!

David & Tina’s engagement at Calke Abbey

David & Tina's egagement photoshoot at Calke Abbey, Debryshire

David and Tina came to us for a fun engagement shoot. They are due to get married here in the UK next month followed by a more elaborate ceremony in Beijing in front of a whopping 600 guests next year!

They wanted something show off our beautiful English heritage to Tina’s friends and family back home and what can be more English than the fabulous national trust property, Calke Abbey. Calke was bustling with people taking part in the Parkinsons Charity Walk so we couldn’t get near to the main house – we decided to make use of the very cool stable block instead!

A big congratulations to David and Tina and good luck for your wedding next month. We’ll look forward to hearing more about your Beijing wedding plans next year…. Who know’s, maybe you’ll need a nice friendly English photographer for the wedding in China

Rachael & Graham – Married at St. Mary Magdalene Church / The Mill Hotel, Bridgenorth

Rachael and Graham are such a lovely couple – fun, good looking and fearless when it comes to the rain… Just as well as it certainly rained on their wedding day – non stop!! Still this didn’t dampen the spirits of the day. Rachael was so determined to get some great outside photos of them together that we went for a walk in the rain and even managed to get some shots without the umbrella in the castle grounds next to St. Mary Magdalenes Church!

The Morning – We found Rachael and her girls getting ready whilst Graham and the boys got ready just a few doors up the corridor. I think if there was a competition for the most “beauty products” used, the guys would have definitely won! They even found time to head to the hotel gym before they left for the ceremony.

After the ceremony the rain broke for a few minutes as we arrived back at The Mill Hotel so we took Rachael and Graham into the beautiful gardens before heading inside for fun and games at the evening reception.

You can see from the gorgeous looks that Rachael gives Graham that they are totally suited for each other and we wish them all the very best for the future!!
