This was to be a wedding of two halves…. a Sikh wedding in the morning at the Gurdwara in Nottingham and then a Western reception at Thrumpton Hall near Nottingham. I thought this was a great idea – not least because the couple got two different outfits for a start!!

Anyway, we arrived at the family house at 7:45am to capture all of Jusleen’s traditional Sikh hair and makeup before all the family headed off to the Temple in Nottingham for the traditional Sikh ceremony – as Jusleen went off inside to hide, Martin arrived in his specially borrowed Porsche (he was in a full Sikh wedding outfit with full beard, turban and sword) and he wasn’t allowed inside until Jusleen’s sisters had played plenty of tricks on him! After the ceremony and the signing of the register they headed off to Thrumpton Hall – this is an ever popular Nottinghamshire wedding venue – beautiful house with lovely grounds for the marquee. The couple separated again at this point so they could change into their Western outfits and Martin could have a shave. The weather just about held off long enough for the majority of the photos before the Indian meal was served. We took ALOT of photos at this wedding but we couldn’t help ourselves! Wow what a place! Swinton Park is a spectacular wedding venue in North Yorkshire, actually a luxury 30 bedroom castle – it really does everything you could ever want!! Suzanne got ready there in ‘The Turret’ before heading off the the local church in a lovely old classic car. After the ceremony they headed straight back to Swinton for the reception and their family photos. Finally a bit of time for the two them and I think you’ll agree that they are both very photogenic indeed! After some great speeches (I think Suzanne is on Team Edward!!), all that was left to do was the first dance and the use of some extra flash to add a bit of drama!! They are clearly so happy together, we wish them all the best!

Kirsty & Stephen chose the village of Helmsley in North Yorkshire for their wedding. Kirsty got ready at the Black Swan Hotel before taking a lovely carriage ride over to the church, she looks beautiful – what a dress!! After the ceremony back to the hotel in the carriage again. Sarah and Andrew chose Burleigh Court in Loughborough for their wedding – it’s a great Leicestershire wedding venue! Whilst Sarah got ready there, Andrew was arriving in a very posh white Porsche! A lovely ceremony followed held by Mr Atkinson, one of our favourite registrars – so very friendly! Drinks outside in the courtyard whilst the majority of the photos were taken then inside for the Wedding Breakfast. It’s clear to see from the photos that Andrew and Sarah are a very happy couple and along with their two boys make a lovely little family. Here are just a few of the photos from the day…

What a great location for a wedding reception, Greggs School as its name would suggest is a school during term time, but can be hired in the summer holidays as a venue and what a venue it is. Lots of grounds and beautiful landscaped gardens – we even saw a few deer! We arrived early at the venue to set up the disco equipment before we headed off to start the photography. Emily & Sam had done a lot of the decoration work themselves and when we arrived to see Emily in the morning she was still making buttonholes! It was a great day, they have lovely family & friends and I’m sure they will have a great life together!

 A bit of a rainy day in Clitheroe, but thankfully the rain held off at all the right times (as it so often does!!) and there are some beautiful photos of Warren & Joanne together. The Inn at Whitewell is a fabulous Lancashire wedding venue next to the river and Joanne stayed there the night before. Lovely service in the church in Whitewell followed by a marquee reception which I think you’ll agree was very attractive indeed especially at night when all the twinkle lights in the roof came on! It was a very happy day and here are just a few of our favourite photos!

We did an engagement shoot for Ollie & Hayley back at the end of August and we had a fab time then – they are both very photogenic… so we knew that the wedding at none other than Belvoir Castle near Grantham was going to be a stunner! They’ve had a rough old time getting this wedding organised – the first venue they picked went bust and caused them an awful amount of stress so all credit to them that they managed to arrange this beautiful wedding. We were to do the photography, the saxophone during the meal and the disco in the evening so we made sure we arrived early to get everything set up. The whole castle is just stunning and we could have photographed for hours but we took far too many as it was! The evening included cannon fire and fireworks and finally a big red bus arrived to take everyone home! Although we needed a week off to recover from this wedding (that castle has got far too many stairs!) we had a fantastic day with Hayley & Ollie – they are just such genuinely lovely people and they obviously think the absolute world of each other. When Bethan told me they were having their reception at Moxhull Hall, we were really pleased as we love that venue! It has a very tasteful modern interior with great landscaped gardens. First it was off to the Premier Inn to capture some shots of everyone getting ready before heading off to the church in Four Oaks. It was a very joyful service, full of music and laughter. The service included, amongst other things, an artist painting the couple their own picture and a very funny Shakespeare skit performed by a couple of the guests. Just great!! Afterwards, back at Moxhull, we made full use of the gardens before the couple headed in for dinner. Bethan & Matt were a real pleasure to photograph and they clearly love each other to bits!! Had a great day with Sarah & Jonathan. We got some shots of the girls at home before heading off to the church to see the guys who did a great job posing for us! After the ceremony we got the key group shots at the church in front of the beautiful doors before talking a little walk around the church grounds. Then off to the Ramada Kidderminster Hotel for a drinks reception, lots of photos of the guests milling around and plenty of their lovely room and table decorations. The day went without a hitch and ended with a great band and disco. Here are just a few photos from the day…

Jim & Rachel chose Cheshire View for their wedding in July, it is a popular wedding venue in Cheshire with fantastic open views over the surrounding countryside. They got married in the Ashlar Room which is usually used for Masonic ceremonies and you can see some of their symbolism in the room – the stars on the ceiling and the stained glass window. Anyway it was a lovely ceremony followed by a drinks reception outside. Jim looked very dashing in his kilt and Rachel simply beautiful – it’s clear that they had a great day and they look so happy together. Here are just a few photos from the day…
