We’d already had a pre-wedding meeting with David & Carol at their venue so we knew that they wanted fairly relaxed photography with a classical feel, and Dovecliff Hall Hotel in Stretton, Staffordshire was the perfect setting.
We had arrived early so took the chance to photograph the dining room including the wedding cake which Carol had made and decorated herself (very impressive I think you’ll agree).
We found David and his brother Michael and captured a few of them with the guests before upstairs to find Carol who looked beautiful, the dress she chose was just perfect for her and suited her down to the ground. Her son walked her down the aisle with daughter behind, serenaded by cellists, and a lovely ceremony followed with some beautiful readings.
Thankfully the rain held off, and apart from a fairly strong breeze it wasn’t actually bad weather for March, but after the big group shot we decided to do the family photos inside to save the ladies’ hair! Carol and David were happy to stay outside for a bit and make the most of the house and the gardens – which we did (it turns out that they are a very photogenic couple despite their best efforts to persuade us otherwise when we first met them!)
The Dovecliffe Hall conservatory was a great setting for the family photos – very light with neutral colours and after this we stood back and photographed things as they happened until they all went into the elegantly decorated dining room for their meal.
We want to say thank you to David and Carol for allowing us to photograph their wedding day – we had a lovely time and wish them all the very best for their future together.
