Sarah & Marks wedding photos at The West Mill, Darley Abbey
Sarah + Mark – The West Mill
We danced, we sang and we laughed and cried… Sarah and Marks’s wedding was AMAZING!!!
You can tell that Sarah and Mark are good eggs….they’ve got so many amazing friends and family around them who clearly adore them. It’s easy to see why. In the short amount of time we’ve had to get to know these two, we love you both too!
So, we started our day at Sarah’s parents, Andy & Jane’s house while Sarah was having her hair and makeup done. It was great to see all the family there and the house was full of bridesmaids. It’s always such a fun atmosphere when the house is full of people. It’s chaos a lot of the time, but lots of fun and it’s totally how your wedding morning should be 🙂
There was definitely an air of excitement around, as no-one, except Sarah and her mum Jane had seen her dress yet, and for a couple of hours, I was part of that elite gang. Her dress was beautiful, and OMG…when she put it on, it was taken to another level. It was the perfect dress for Sarah and she looked stunning!
With everyone ready, we headed to the church to find Mark and his guys greeting guests and waiting for Sarah’s arrival in her beautiful white Beauford. After a quick selfie with Dad, we headed in and before we knew it they were husband and wife! A friend of Sarah’s conducted a lot of the ceremony and it added a really personal touch to the day and delivered some wise words…
“Married life: don’t try and buy expensive presents…
The things you can afford, she won’t like, and the things she likes, you definitely can’t afford.”
It was pretty chilly, so we headed back to the amazing West Mill for the drinks reception where there were lots of mince pies waiting for us all.
Let’s start by saying how awesome The West Mill is. For those of you who follow our blog, you’ll already know that we love it there. A cool, converted mill building in the middle of Derby’s creative district. Amazing industrial styling and period features filled with pockets of interesting light. It’s amazing and is perfect for a winter wedding!
With a few photos and lots of hanging out with friends, the drinks reception passed by in the blink of an eye and before you knew it, it was time to head upstairs and have some food and speeches. This is where I donned my other cap and turned to the saxophone, playing throughout dinner. Everyone was in amazing spirits and it went down pretty well, with the whole room singing along to some classic Prince at the end.
As they say, the rest is history. We partied into the night and had an amazing time. Everyone was full of the excitement of Christmas and I think most people had finished work too, so it was a great evening!!
Thanks so much for having us along for the ride guys – We LOVED hanging out with you all!
