A Bestwood Lodge Wedding

Heidi + Craig

Say hello to Heidi and Craig, they’re our cousins… how awesome is that!!

It’s great to be involved in family weddings – we get to photograph people we already know and have grown up with, on one of the best days of their lives – love it!

Now, this was a bit of an international wedding, they had family flying in from all over the world. Australia, Japan, Canada to name a few. I think that Jessie gets a special mention – he flew from Australia to Canada a couple of weeks ago, only to fly from Canada to the UK for the wedding and then back to Australia. Pretty amazing around the world journey!

We started the day at Heidi’s parent’s house in Derbyshire. It was great to see the house again as we grew up visiting there when we were young, playing with all their animals (p.s if you need a turkey for Christmas, make sure you get in touch with them….they’ve got LOADS!!!).

The Wedding

With everyone ready, it was time to head off to Bestwood Lodge to find an eagerly waiting Craig at the front of the aisle. With Heidi and Craig happily married, we headed out onto the terrace to do a few family photos before the big black clouds that were looming started to rain! After dinner, we had a great time shooting their couple portraits – Heidi and Craig have been through so much together over the last 5 years that they now have a super relaxed approach to everything and they’re so great together! It was so nice for us to be at a wedding where we knew lots of people too. We could enjoy catching up with everyone (whilst working hard, of course! :))  and also enjoy a glass of wine during dinner, which was novel, as we normally never have a drink at weddings!

With dinner and speeches finished, we all hung out for the evening, intermingled with some a few photos in the dark before it was time for the cake cut and first dance. A quick mention to Heather and Rachel who made the cake – it looked pretty damn awesome guys – Hope it tasted as good as it looked!!

Thanks for such a great day guys  – it was a pleasure to be involved and to see everyone again!
