A Woodland Wedding Venue

If you’re looking for somewhere where you can have an open air wedding ceremony in the woods, followed by a tipi reception by a big old oak tree and wedding photos in amongst one of Britain’s finest display of bluebells, THIS is the place to do it!

Every so often you come across a venue that has something a little bit special about it. When we first heard about the opening of this new and exciting woodland wedding venue in Staffordshire, we knew we had to go and see it. So back at the start of the year, we headed to Yoxall to see what all the fuss was about. It was pretty much a big field with lots of woodland around it and a whole load of plans and passion from the owners Charlotte and Dave. Their enthusiasm and generally loveliness rubbed off on us and we decided to set up a photoshoot in amongst the bluebells earlier this year to try the venue out in it’s early stages of development. See the Bluebell Woods photoshoot here.

Fast forward the entire summer and here we are now. This open field has been transformed into a beautiful wedding venue – with the addition of Tipi’s, a glamping villiage, foodie vans and a beautiful blessing circle, its definitely one of those venues that holds a little bit of magic, waiting to be unleashed by the amazing couples that get married here.

The Photoshoot

We joined some fab suppliers for their first open day  –  A Woodland Wedding Festival. Now, who doesn’t want to hear those 3 words together?!?!  Never wanting to miss an opportunity to shoot in awesome places, we were delighted to be asked if we wanted to set up a photoshoot during the morning of the open day.

The plan was for an early morning, misty autumnal sunrise as a start for the shoot and then heading into the woods for some photos in the blessing circle. One out of two wasn’t bad – We made it and were all stood there ready to start photographing at 7am, but unfortunately, the beautiful golden sunrise didn’t really happen thanks to the clouds. So often is the case – you just have to be prepared to make a change. Luckily Rebecca and Steve, our bride and groom, were totally awesome together. We didn’t need the golden sun to make them look amazing in this epic landscape, they did that all on their own. Of course with a little help form a stunning dress from Pheobe at The Ivory Chapter, and honestly, the most unusual and beautiful bouquet I’ve ever seen from the ever talented Nadia Di Tulio Flowers. There aren’t many people that I would trust to put together bouquet made up of fruits, something that resembled an artichoke head, and some other very cool looking flowers, and make it look amazing. I mean, truly amazing – that’s some serious talent, right there!

A big thanks to everyone else who were there on the open day too, making the whole site look it’s absolute best for the shoot. Some beautiful stationery from Hannah at Yellowstone Paperworks, a supercool glamping village from Tinkers Bells, the most amazing cakes from Hannah at Bake and lots of props around the site from Dani from In My Life UK.

There are lots more photos coming soon, but for now, here are our highlights!
