Kirsty & Luke wedding photos at Shustoke Farm Barn
“But most of all, love needs love, lots of it.
And in return, love loves you and never stops.”

We met up with Kirsty & Luke back in April for their engagement shoot. We headed down to Birmingham for an early morning city shoot and had such a blast! Love this engagement shoot so much and after meeting them both I knew their wedding day was going to be awesome! Take a look!
Preparations at mum & dad’s
On the morning of the wedding, Kirsty and all her bridesmaids got ready at her parent’s house, which was also her childhood home, just up the road from Shustoke. Bacon sandwiches were in full swing and everyone was busy with hair and makeup! Mum, Dad and brother-in-law were busy washing up while Kirsty set up a trick for Dad. She swapped his wedding tie for the tie of his most hated football team – needless to say, there was an uproar when he found it 😂
Kirsty was ready with plenty of time to spare, which is unusual apparently as we’re told she’s usually late, so think it was a nice surprise for Luke for her arrive nice and early at Shustoke.
The wedding ceremony
I was doing a Stop Motion video for Kirsty & Luke and after chatting to the registrars they were more than happy to allow me at the front with Ben. This was so lovely as I was able to see so much more of the emotion. It’s usually only Ben that gets to see this as I’m usually at the back! They had a great reading called “Falling in love is like owning a dog”. I’d never heard it before and it was brilliant! The ceremony went really well and it was soon time to head out into the courtyard for drinks and canapés amongst the olive trees.
The weather forecast had been shocking, high winds and rain, but thankfully the rain held off for a while and we were able to have some fun outside. I was even given the keys to the groom’s dad’s Aston Martin for a couple of photos – wish I could have taken it for a spin!! 😃
The wedding breakfast set up in the barn
The barn looked gorgeous, as always. All set up with lots of flowers including some stunning sunflowers and dinner was delicious, it always is at Shustoke! Still, our favourite place to eat wedding food! The staff are wonderful too, so professional and really friendly.
The evening reception
Whilst evening guests were arriving we took the opportunity to take Kirsty and Luke upstairs for a few photos by the circular window. I love it up there. Shustoke really know how to light their venue, there’s even a beautiful row of festoon lights outside which really come into their own when the sun goes down. The band came on for the first dance and I can honestly say they were really, really good – They totally got everyone up and dancing! Kirsty & Luke booked us to stay longer into the evening and that was fab because we got lots of time on the dancefloor as well as some extra time to play with the darkness outside 😀
We had the best time at this wedding, Kirsty & Luke are such a lovely couple – big smiles from them all day which always makes us super happy photographers! Here’s just a few of our favs from the day but be sure to click through to the Full Gallery at the end of the page!
