When you put together two amazing people, families that are as awesome as they are crazy and a wedding full of kids, you know it’s going to be a great day!!
We only ever chatted to Lexy and Chris via email and they have always been so pleasant, we couldn’t wait for this wedding and having met them now, we really weren’t disappointed.
Lexi and Chris got married at The Old Vicarage in Southwell. A beautiful boutique hotel in Nottinghamshire with just their closest friends and family present – There was such a lovely, intimate feeling to the day.
We started out with Lexy in her room as she was getting ready. She was surrounded by friends, family and children, and it was chaos! Awesome, fun, organised chaos. We love that.
To say that Chris arrived in style was an understatement. Lexy had organised a classic white Corvette to pick him up. One of only seven of this particular car in the world, so that was pretty amazing. Needless to say, it didn’t take me long before I jumped in to have a look myself. Definitely a little bit of car envy going on here!! I WANT ONE!!!
The ceremony was lovely, Lexy arrived with her dad, looking beautiful (Lexi looking beautiful, that is, not her dad– Although Richard scrubbed up pretty damn well too!) There was a touching little moment in the ceremony which made it truly unique. Chris, after finishing his vows to Lexy, had written some vows to his step-daughter Mia, promising to always be there for her and to never let her down. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house.
With the ceremony finished, we all headed outside into the beautiful sunshine. Who could have predicted that we’d be outside in March, basking in glorious sunshine. We were actually hot for the first time this year! Is summer actually on the way???!!
After a small altercation between Mia, her flower girl dress and a mud bog, we finished the group photos and headed inside for food and a couple of impromptu speeches.
During the evening we always like to take time out with our couples to find interesting bits of light and shade around the venue. They are not always in the most obvious of places. On this occasion, we ended up in a corridor by the toilets to create some amazing portraits using some table lamps and a torch. Needless to say, Lexy and Chris rocked it!!
We had an awesome day with everyone – so much love going around and everyone had a great time. Here are a few of our favourites from the day…. be sure to click through to the Full Gallery too! 😘
