Thrumpton Hall Wedding Photography | Laura & Lee
Thrumpton Hall, a Nottingham country house wedding venue
Thrumpton Hall dates back to the 16th century and is set within 300 acres of beautiful parkland. It’s located in the tiny village of Thrumpton in Nottinghamshire not that far from east Midlands airport – perfect for a honeymoon get away! The house itself is stunning, full of history and links to Lord Byron, perfect for some gorgeous photography and the outside has landscaped gardens and the lakeside pavillion marquee perfect for the evening reception and party!
Meet the bride and groom
Laura and Lee 🙂 Laura is a fellow wedding supplier who makes supplies for hen do’s along with her bridesmaid, Becca, who’s wedding we also photographed a couple of years ago at Swancar Farm. We’ve met Lee a couple of times and the both of them together are awesome – Really fun, natural and so good together!
The bridal preps and the ceremony
So, we found Laura upstairs getting pampered, having her hair and makeup done by the amazing Claire Elizabeth Makeup with her bridesmaids in a beautiful four poster room, with a nice big window for natural light, and the biggest bathroom ever. After having all the space in the world upstairs, it was shock to head downstairs to the super cramped ceremony room, where Laura and Lee had certainly filled it to the rafters with all their friends and family. Still, we much prefer it that way… gives the whole ceremony a bit of atmosphere and helps the emotion really come through (especially apparent as Laura arrived at the top of the aisle with a tear running down her face!)
The evening party
The day was filled with lots of fun and music – They had a great Jazz trio to play outside while we did some photos and then a swing band for the evening to match the uber classy black and gold theme throughout the day. After dinner we whisked them both off as we noticed the most amazing sunset happening… one of the nicest I’ve seen all year I think and well worth trekking down to. I could go on and on, but all you really need to know, was that this day was awesome. Full stop.
Big thanks to Gareth or “G” / “Hannah mark2” as he’d become known as through the day, for assisting me.
