Weddings at The Ashes, Endon near Stoke | Ceris & David
The perfect barn wedding venue
Goodness where to start with The Ashes, it’s the best of both worlds, a lovely old house makes a lovely backdrop for photos while the converted barns are a fab setting for your ceremony and wedding breakfast, there is the courtyard for the drinks reception and then the gardens and grounds with great views across the surrounding Staffordshire countryside.
The morning bridal preparations & ceremony
We found Ceris getting ready in The Old Dairy (aka “the poo shed”, dubbed by Ceris’ dad) at The Ashes surrounded by all her bridesmaids, drinking champagne and munching on sandwiches to settle their nerves before David and all the guests arrived on the bus. It was a beautiful ceremony – Ceris had perfectly timed her entrance with an amazing version of “All You Need Is Love” by Jim Sturgess, and this had everyone anticipating a great day ahead, and they weren’t disappointed.
Group photos on the lawns
We all headed outside after ceremony, desperately hoping it wasn’t going to rain while doing the group photos on the lawns – Well, it rained, but only a little bit so we managed to brave it outside and all the girls got umbrellas to shelter under while we carried on with the photos. Typical British summer, right?!
Speeches and Bake-Off
After a beautiful and some hilarious speeches, we headed outside to do some cool photos around the grounds before it was time for some dancing and the bake-off judging in the evening. For the record, the ‘Rich Chocolate Tray Bake’ got my vote!
It’s weddings like this that really make us love our job. Ceris and David are two of the loveliest people and all their friends and family we so happy and bubbly on the day, we had such a great time with them all! Anyway, here are a few of our favourites from the day.
